5th Grade Students:
Please consider this invitation to represent Prairie Trail in singing the Star Spangled Banner on Friday, December 16, 2016. This enthusiastic group of 5th graders will perform the national anthem prior to start the boys' basketball game. A copy of music will be sent home immediately with students who have RETURNED permission slips. If blank CD-R/CD-RW disc or flash drive is provided by a student, a practice tracks can be made for home use.
Details regarding timing of the December 16 performance will be communicated at the later date via e-mail to parents with involved students. On that evening students will meet Mrs. Frame in the cafeteria/commons area just outside the Ankeny High School gymnasium. Students will be performing without accompaniment "The Star-Spangled Banner" in front of the scoring table on the gym floor after the team line ups have been announced prior to the first game of the doubleheader, likely between 6-6:30 pm. Mrs. Frame will be on hand that evening to give students the opening pitch and lend support if needed :) Please let Mrs. Frame know by Monday, November 14 if you are interested in this performance opportunity by completing, detaching and returning the bottom portion of this letter.
Mandatory Rehearsals for 5th Grade Spirit Night Performers Mondays: 7:40-7:50 am December 5 and December 12 in the music room. Friday, December 16 from 7:45-7:55 am following band rehearsal in the music room. Students on safety patrol will need to find a sub for morning rehearsals.
