Xingping is surrounded by great examples of Karst scenery, with one particularly prominent peak overlooking the village from the southern end of the shoreline against the Yi River, which is topped with a lookout which can be climbed too with relative ease by those with an adventurous spirit and a head for heights.

1. Laozhai Hill: a 45 minutes hike to the top of the hill from where you can enjoy a beautiful postcard-like scenery of the region, Xingping town, and the Lijiang river. It's the perfect spot for watching the sunrise and sunset. (Free)
2. Damian Mountain: 5 km from Nirvana, another excellent spot to appreciate the real essence of the Lijiang River and its delightful landscape. A great place to enjoy the best view of the Lijiang River. (Free)
3. Xianggongshan Hill: 8 km from Nirvana, a 20 minutes hike to reach the top. The light, clouds, and stunning sunrises attract numerous photography enthusiasts to this point. (Fee: ¥50)
4. Snail Hill: an excellent viewpoint that also offers an optional visit to a cave and the ancient Tengjiao Temple. (Free)
5. Osmanthus trees: follow the ancient stone steps walkway to enjoy the sweet-scented osmanthus trees, from where you can appreciate a panoramic view of the river and the fishing village. (Free)
6. The 1600 years old camphor trees: these natural giants, have been the guardians of Xingping for a long time. (Free)

Nirvana is located in the Ancient Town of Xingping, Yangshuo County, Guilin City, at the foot of the Yuanbao Mountain, which is painted on the reverse side of the new ¥20 note.
