Dear Hiring Manager,
I discovered your ad on Craigslist and read it with great interest, so I am formally applying for the Retail
Inventory Associate position at your Seattle location.
I am experienced in retail sales/customer service, with a personal emphasis on quick learning, and
quick thinking. I pride myself in knowing that my communication skills, focus, presentation, and attention
to detail serve my employer's best interests at all times. I have enjoyed becoming a customer service
expert, thoughtful team player and reliable manager who appreciates the visual and physical
manifestations of a hands-on type of job well done.
My current role requires a presence on both the sales floor and the receiving area while participating in
both the purchasing department and at the checkout counter. It has become second nature for me to
have strict understanding the impact staff have on each other, the costumer, and the business as a
whole. I use this knowledge and understanding to form my own guiding principles which allow me to find
successes large and small, as well as foster success for those around me.
With that said, I am willing and look forward to learning from you and your team members what is
necessary in order to succeed and grow with your company, as I am sure this position would provide me
with an ideal opportunity to assist there while further expanding my own skill sets.
I am presently working at Pacific Supply Co. (a small, locally owned hardware store) and my hours are 9
- 6pm weekdays. I do, however, have an outstanding relationship with the store owner and staff, so
scheduling an interview is not an issue. My earliest available start date would follow a formal two week
notice period.
