In the novel The Lord Of The Flies made by William Golding the two mainly focused characters are Ralph and Jack. Ralph and Jack are very similar in some ways from what is een byt there actions on the island, but on the other hand both boys have very different personalities and ways thinking. A generalization that could be said is that Ralph is the sane one while Jack is insane in their respective ways of creating ideas. All in all, the boys help create a foundation of roles and rules (at least for a while) to keep all the followers of them together. The similarities Ralph and Jack have during the story is, they both have the mindsets of a leader, the drive to live and stay alive on the island for as long as possible, and are both very courageous. An example of both Ralph and Jack's leadership abilities and motivational drive is when the the two groups split up. When Ralph essentially became leader of his own group and Jack was leader of his own neither of the boys quit or gave up on their group members no matter how tuff times were they kept pursuing this goal to get off the island alive. The similarity of courage is that both boys had to bare the trouble of living through these storms and having the fears of animals and other creatures, while keeping there own members safe (in a way) to where they woud find out what was wrong because that was a naturally born leader ability they were both given. If Jack and Ralph were not on the island, everyone on that island would have been dead in 3 days, those leaders saved them and gave all the boys the courage to keep attempting to prosper at the goal to get off the island alive.
