Tarsius tarsier adalah suatu jenis primata kecil, memiliki tubuh berwarna coklat kemerahan dengan warna kulit kelabu, bermata besar dengan telinga menghadap ke depan dan memiliki bentuk yang lebar. Keistimewaan tarsius adalah ukuran matanya lebih besar jika dibandingkan besar otaknya sendiri. Mata tarsius dapat digunakan untuk melihat dengan tajam dalam kegelapan tetapi sebaliknya,tarsius hampir tidak bisa melihat pada siang hari
Kepala Tarsius dapat memutar hampir 180 derajat baik ke arah kanan maupun ke arah kiri, seperti burung hantu.
