To whom it may concern,

As a passionate Leeds supporter, I would like to congratulate everyone at GFH Capital on the upcoming investment in Leeds United Football Club. You have chosen a team with amazing supporters, and potential for on and off-field success that knows no bounds.

That being said, I write to you with an issue that I have noticed as a supporter, and as a dedicated marketing and social media professional.

Leeds United has one of the most passionate and vocal fan bases on social media, however, they are not engaged with by the club at all. Not only are there no Facebook and Twitter accounts, but the majority of supporters get their breaking Leeds news from third-party sites.

As someone who has worked in digital for many years, I would love for Leeds to become as successful through social media as they are on the field after your investment. This will lead to a new fan base, a more engaged existing fan base, and eventually further revenue for the club through merchandise and ticket sales.

I know how successful a Leeds United community can be first hand.

In 2006, I created the first Leeds United Facebook Group. What started as a small niche of fans has now grown into the largest and most active Leeds United group on Facebook!

I have learned a lot about United supporters through this group, and I understand how to communicate with the fan base.

I also understand the soccer landscape from a professional point of view. For two years I was the Digital Media Lead with the Chicago Fire of MLS. I managed our online properties, and experienced first-hand the successes and trials of working with a soccer franchise on and offline.

The situation that Leeds United are in now is similar to that of Manchester City. Before they were purchased, their social efforts needed improvement. Since then, Manchester City have cemented themselves as the most successful club digitally in England.

I know that Leeds United can do the same, and I would love to help! As someone who is a dedicated Leeds supporter, along with being a talented marketing professional, my experience and creativity can help the club reach new heights through their online channels, that will eventually help exploits on the pitch.

I would love to chat in further detail with anyone who is willing to speak with me. I have a plethora of ideas, and I want to see them in action, especially for the club that I love!
