First, being in a list of talented wizards who can do something like appear, because not everybody can't, but being strong and skillful, like moony, the trio, the prof, etc, need to study and improve, again, not all are like that. But for that you need to effort and improve, have an education, they all did, and with that they become proficient, again they were many incompetent wizards, so that's why F-G who were amazing wizards could make so much money on magic others couldn't perform, but they did. Being intelligent and skillful by inventing and practicing make them great and with that successful. They were amazing, they were brilliant and confident enough in their abilities and skills and future they had planned to be good enough for the gih.
Wizards were an amazing species, they had more long lives than humans, and what they can do with their powers were amazing, teleporting for once, create and move things with their desires, read minds, and that's just what it's showed, they created thousands of useful spells used with the magic inside, they resisted more than humans and could heal faster with magic applied, they could produce fire, control people and kill at will, with time and effort transform into animals or things, some could fly. The thing is, they were really superior and still didn't invade humans but let them live in peace, really skillful race.
