---------------------------------------------------------Socialism-----------------------------------------------------------Not everyone agreed with the ideas of the free market and promotion of individual economic rights that Adam Smith and Laissez Faire Economics believed in.
-Many saw the hardships to industrial life, creating rifts between the rich and poor without a way for the poor to better themselves.
-Socialism: people as a whole, not individuals, would own and operate the means of production.(the farms, factories, railways, businesses etc. that produced and distributed goods)
-The Goal was for society to promote the wellbeing of every person, not just the rich at what many felt was the expense of the poor.
-Can you think of any socialist aspects of out modern, American society?
-----------------------------------------------Communism and Karl Marx------------------------------------------------- Marx, a German political and economic theorist, along with other believe the utopian belief was too unrealistic and that conflict between the classes was unavoidable.
He this form of socialism, "communism"
-After"researching" history, Marx believed that throughout time economics has
caused a rift between the classes, creating the "haves" and the "have-nots"
- All Human conflict was born from this rift.
- Teamed up with Friedrich Engels to write "The Communist Manifesto", which he predicted that the "haves" ( bourgeoisie) and "have nots" (proletariat working class) would clash over the means of productions, He believed the proletariat would win.
