In this lesson I learned about a few things. Such as A sentence fragment fails to be a sentence. A sentence fragment has no object; either no subject or no verb. It also talks about subjects & predicates, every sentence has a complete subject & a complete predicate. The complete subject tells whom or what the sentence is about, 'The house, the red car, the great teacher. A complete predicate tells what the subject is or does, "Is white, Is fast, likes students." The lesson talks about direct & indirect objects. A direct object is normally a noun or pronoun, showing the action of a verb. You can find a direct object by finding the verb and labeling it as either linking or action look at the noun that receives the action of the verb and label it as the direct object. Remember linking verbs cannot have indirect or direct objects they have predicates. "The boy gave Suzy apple baby food." Boy is the subject, gave is the action verb, and the food is what is being given so there is your direct object. An indirect object who the action of the verb is done, you have to have a direct object to have a indirect object. An direct object is always a noun or pronoun. "The boy gave Suzy apple baby food." Who is receiving the apple baby food? Suzy. There you have your indirect object. Sentences aren't as simple as you think, they're actually kind of tricky to be honest. This lesson I would have to say was pretty simple & easy it was really just a review.
