Coming from an eighth grader: living is a state which describes complex connections between molecules that perform at least basic processes which it is necessary to execute in it's environment, forming an organism. These processes develop after a long time, and if the mutation is just right, then that organism's chances of procreating as well as extending its longevity increase.
This description of processes which form the functions of an organism, like any other natural thing, has no meaning without humans to apply that concept to it. Meaning is different to each and every one of us. And just like historical interpretations, meaning is created by us.
So, the better question is, "What is your meaning of life? What is meant in living your life--to you?"
Meaning describes and points to an end result.
There is no meaning of life. Organic compounds produce conditions for life to emerge and it all ends with a sudden extraterrestrial object crashing into the Earth, or with a sun dying out, or perhaps the sudden climatic change when man emerges in the vast biosphere. It is up to you what your meaning is.
