I heard that there are people who hate Eddie Redmayne because he played role as trans woman Lili Elbe in 'The Danish Girl'. Let's think again from this point of view...
Not many actors want to take risks playing a role that can give them critics, hate or mock. Still remember Jared Leto in his film Dallas Buyers Club where he plays as a trans woman named Rayon? With those roles... It proves totality of their acting skills. They don't afraid to take risks. They don't play safe with the roles they took. They can act as trans woman, or gay, or a rebel, or Stephen Hawking, or Joker, or whatever they want. But they will act as the best as they can, so you'll forget seeing an actor playing in a movie. What I think is: better you guys appreciate him and support him than hate him. I don't ask you to love him, but hate is too much for them. Just......don't hate.
But of course, we know that the critics are always there for an actor, always—everyday, right? It can't be avoid. What we only can do is support them. But still, I don't say there is no pro and contra.
