Greenhouse gases, and how it can effect Earth itself.
The greenhouse gas is a gas that absorbs and emits radiation within thermal infrared range. The primary green house gases in the Earth's atmosphere are water vapor, Carbon Dioxide, Methane, Nitrous Oxide, and Ozone. Greenhouse gases like water vapor, Methane, and Carbon Dioxide stop heat escaping from Earth to Space. If this increases global warming can happen, and climate change.
Heat Capacity.
The Heat capacity of a defined system is the amount of heat ( this is usually expressed in Joules, Calories, or Kilocalories). needed to raise the system's temperature by one degree (this can be expressed in Kelvin, or Celsius).Temperature and heat are not the same thing:
temperature is a measure of how hot something is
heat is a measure of the thermal energy contained in an object.
Temperature is measured in °C, and heat is measured in J. When heat energy is transferred to an object, its temperature increase depends upon the:the mass of the object
the substance the object is made from
the amount energy transferred to the object.
Specific heat capacity.
The specific heat capacity of a substance is the amount of energy needed to change the temperature of 1 kg of the substance by 1°C. Different substances have different specific heat capacities.
