• Many portable chargers on the market, such as the Mophie Power Reserve, are far too bulky to be convenient. Two main types of portable chargers are the brick and lipstick shapes, neither of which is convenient for carrying in your pocket or your hand. Bricks tend to have the surface area of a phone, but are significantly thicker, making them less portable than one would like. The lipstick design is somewhat better, as its shape is reminiscent of an oversized tube of lipstick; however, it is still not ideal for carrying around. Along with large dimensions, many portable chargers are too heavy, occasionally weighing more than a phone itself. Even if you get over the unwieldy shape of one, you must now cope with its weight. Most portable chargers require you to carry around a cord separately. Oftentimes, a portable charger includes only the power source itself, as well as a USB port to plug in your existing phone charging cable.
