This is going to be long.

I'm a 15 year old girl. He's an almost 17 year old guy who lives 3 hours away. I know him through family so we only see each other like every 3 months or so, but when we do we stay for a weekend. When I was younger I'd see him almost every week, for dinners etc. We've never been to the same school or whatever, and don't know any of the others' friends.

We've had many 'weekend getaways' with our families. There was one 2 years ago when he told me he 'really likes' me. I was in a bit of a daze and didn't say anything back, and mentally kick myself everyday for it.

He asked for my number shortly after, and we don't really talk that much. When we do, it's constant teasing, and sadly I start the conversation most of the time. He barely ever continues the conversation when it reaches a stop.

He's not one to smile all the time and be courteous, he's not exactly optimistic, and does the safe cursing sorta thing (saying stuff like godammit, damn, jesus christ, etc.). My parents aren't too keen on him since apparently he doesn't study a lot or obey his parents.

Writing the above paragraph, I'm not very sure as to why I like him. He's always playfully teased me and I've always managed to say something snarky back to him. We have a very touchy relationship; nothing sexual, but it's more like tickling, poking, play fighting/wrestling, etc.

There's only one of my friends who have met him, and I asked him after he sorta observed us and he said, "It's pretty obvious that you two like each other".

For the friends that don't know him, I've shown pictures, and they don't think he's attractive in any way, so my liking isn't based purely upon looks. I think it's his charm; the way he makes me feel, and the way he teases me.

I don't think there's any chance of us dating before university (thank you, strict parents) but seeing as it's been 3 years, I've always thought about after that, etc. It's definitely more than a crush at this point; the feeling I get around him / when he texts me is something I just can't ignore anymore. I've tried getting over him, and moving onto other boys, but my efforts are ruined when I see him again.

Does anyone have any tips? How I can keep him close for the next few years? Catch his attention a bit more, especially over text? Anyone been in a similar position? Questions welcome.
