Piala tersebut berhasil dihancurkan oleh Hermione Granger menggunakan taring Basilisk yang ia dan Ron Weasley dapatkan di Kamar Rahasia pada tahun 1998 .
Hepzibah Smith
Hepzibah Smith pemilik turunan piala hufflepuff .Ia merupakan keturunan jauh dari Helga Hufflepuff. Riddle membunuh Smith, mencuri piala, dan merekayasa bahwa Hokey yang merupakan peri rumah Smith, yang membunuh majikannya . Voldemort mempercayai piala tersebut kepada Bellatrix Lestrange, yang tetap menjaga piala tersebut pada lemari besinyadi Bank Gringotts.
Hepzibah Smith (wafat tahun 1955-1961) adalah seorang penyihir darah murni atau setengah darah yang mengaku keturunan Helga Hufflepuff. Ia sangat kaya . Hepzibah adalah seorang kolektor barang-barang antik magis yang rajin, termasuk benda-benda milik pendiri Hogwarts .
