Be confident when speaking, speak up, lad! Try your best not to stare at the script while presenting. Use hand gestures appropriately and remember – do not be scared.

One of us will be assigned to read something. For example, if it’s my turn, my name will be in these type of brackets – {Rifqi}

This animation contains a lot of animations and some things that are to be read must correspond with the animation cues. The animation cue details will be in (brackets).

=Slide 1=

(Let animation of our names & digital game development cue)

{Kai Xun)
Good morning, Mr. Malcolm and fellow schoolmates. I am Kai Xun and these are my members in my group. We will be sharing on our chosen developer for our assignment, and our chosen developer is…
(let toby fox cue)

…Toby Fox!
=Slide 2=
(let toby fox’s name and picture cue)

{Rifqi}
Now, who is Toby Fox? Toby “Radiation” Fox, otherwise known as fwugRadiation, is a music composer and game developer who has produced music for the webcomic, that is a comic online, called ‘Homestuck’ before producing music for his own ‘game’ and the other one to come that he has developed.
(let the Halloween hack cue in)

And his ‘first game’ that he has developed is dubbed the ‘Earthbound: Halloween Hack’. Well, it’s not really a ‘game’ that he has produced in its entirety, as Earthbound was already one made by Nintendo. But instead, it is a modification, a mod, for the game, which he developed during his early years in programming. He even went to great lengths to compose music for his own game.

=Slide 3=
{Hafiz}
But, Toby Fox is not only known to compose music and create a mod. He is very well known for creating a game called…
(let undertale cue in)

{Kai Xun}
‘Undertale’ - A game that took three years in the making and was released to the market on September 15th 2015. Now, (look at audience) does anybody know or heard of Undertale before? Great. But, for those who are unfamiliar to this title, we will answer your question that is…
(let what is and question mark cue)

…”What is Undertale?”

=Slide 4=
(let undertale and the long text cue in)
{Imran}
Undertale is an RPG, that is a role-playing game, where the player does not have to fight opponents in order to progress through the game, which is basically the opposite of traditional RPG games, such as the classic Pokemon games.
(let pokemon picture and text cue)

{Hafiz}
For instance, a player’s Pokemon will have to fight and defeat the opponent’s Pokemon to gain EXP, or experience points, to level up and become stronger. This can be considered as a violent thing, well, for most people.
(let the undertale picture and text disappear and next picture and text cue)

{Imran}
However, in Undertale, the player has the option to either fight or spare, whereby sparing opponents in RPG are quite uncommon and unique. This way, the player can win fights without any violence, but at the cost of not gaining EXP to level up.

{Kai Xun}
We will explain the mechanics behind the special mechanic of sparing opponents in the next few slides.
=Slide 5=
(let undertale cue in first)

{Rifqi}
Undertale, a game which took only four years in the making, FOUR. With graphics which looks pretty outdated, it seems to have quantity over quality in terms of graphics. The surprising thing is that, despite the old retro graphics, this game, ‘Undertale’…
(let 10/10 review cue)

…achieved TWO 10/10 reviews from two of the largest gaming platforms. Let’s think about that – a game with, like, old graphics with flawless reviews? How’s that possible? That’ll be answered in the next slide.
(let kickstarter logo cue in)

Alright, before I get to the point, I will have to give a brief information about Kickstarter. Kickstarter is basically an online platform where people can donate money to fund-raising campaigns. Patrons can have special rewards for donating a particular amount, which makes Kickstarter a go-to platform to donate.

Anyways, back to the point. Undertale was first started as a Kickstarter campaign, during its early development stages. Toby Fox opened up the campaign and aimed to achieve $5,000 to aid him financially. Miraculously, a lot of people donated to his campaign, and the amount at the end was TEN TIMES more than the amount he was aiming for. Yep, $50,000.
(let the game maker and yoyo games cue in)

This simple-looking yet massively successful game was made using an accessible game engine, that is Game Maker Studio, or formerly known as YoYo Games Engine. I was speechless when I knew about this. Think about it, a great game from a really accessible engine? That’s bananas.

Oh, and another thing, due to the accessibility of this game engine, Undertale has inspired a lot of young game programmers to create spin-off titles of Undertale and of other franchises as well. Marvelous.

=Slide 5=
(let what made undertale so successful cue)
{Hafiz}
Okay, so, what made Undertale so successful?
(let the story thing cue in)

Well, Undertale, despite having outdated graphics, has a massively immersive story that plays around with the emotions of the players. The fighting and sparing mechanics contribute to the story and there are multiple endings for the game, which makes Undertale special and highly-praised.
(let music cue in)

{Imran}
In addition to that, Undertale has one of the most, if not, THE BEST videogame soundtrack till this day. The simplicity of the songs, yet very cleverly composed, has attracted most of its fans and inspired them to compose music.

{Kai Xun}
Alright, in this game, there are three standard endings. These endings depend on the choices of the player, whether to fight or show mercy to opponents.
(let frisk and text cue)

The first ending is called the Neutral Ending, whereby the player will have to fight opponents mostly in self-defence, as well as spare some.
(let asriel and text cue)

{Imran}
The second ending, the True Pacifist Ending, is achieved when the player shows mercy and spares every opponent in the game.
(let black background cue, then chara, then genocide route, then text cue.)

{Rifqi}
The third one, the Genocide Ending, is acquired when the player mercilessly murders every. Single. Thing. In the game. The player will not feel sympathy, nor empathy. The player shall know that no consequences exist when shedding blood.

=Slide 6=
(let the huge text and face cue)

{Kai Xun}
So, this is a review by one of our members about the game. Let’s see what he’s said.
(read the text)
Depressing.
(let the face disappear and new text and face cue in)
Oh, here’s another review by him.
(read text)
Spooky. May Rifqi rest in peace.

=Slide 7=
(let logo and thank you cue in)

{Kai Xun}
So, that’s all we can share today. Thank you for your attention. And, remember.
(let stay determined cue)
{EVERYONE}
Stay determined.
(bow)
