~Court System~
-The court starts when the Judge enters the room, everyone is to stand until the judge tells them to sit.
-The judge starts the court session. Then the prosecution begins with their opening statement
-Opening statements basically tells the story and what the charges are for.
-Prosecution calls all their witnesses and ask questions. Then the defense can cross exam the witness and ask questions after you to that witness, and it goes back and fourth.
-The prosecution is the one seeing, the defense is the one who is being sued.
-If you arrest someone unlawfully or give them a ticket for something that isn't against the law they can sue you. If they do, you're in court. You must defend yourself against all charges.
-When you go to court, you will usually be there with a department lawyer or someone you chose to defend you.
- A primary office is in charge of the call.
-They are in charge of writing the reports of the call such as arrest reports.
-As the primary officer, if a citizen ask for your name and badge number. You are required to give it to them.
-You must give them your badge number and name or they can take it to your supervisor. It may or will get you suspended or fired.
-It is very important to take major crimes to court, much as mass murder and domestic terrorism.
-You don't take minor crimes to court, such as red light running.

~Probable Cause and Reasonable Suspicion~
-Probable Cause, I know they did it.
-Reasonable Suspicion, I think they did it. Reason to believe someone may have been involved in a criminal act.
PC Example, if you see a car acting suspicious you aren't legally allowed to stop them.
-You can ask them things like where they are going, just to figure out why they are acting the way they did.
-RS example, you are patrolling at 3:00 AM and you see a man in a black hoodie and jeans weaving through alleyways. You can go talk to him, but he can say "Go away" and you should leave him alone.

~Miranda Rights~
- You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you can't afford one, one will be appointed to you in the court of law.
