Staring from Saturday night, 22 June, of the terrorist attack on Diamir Base Camp, we had to stop any public information about the Romanian Expedition on Nanga Parbat, in order to protect our team. There were a few days with a maximal potential of danger for our climbers and therefore we couldn't disclouse the place where they were. In this time period the government of the Republic of Pakistan evacuated all the expeditions which were on Diamir face and closed the area. Starting from today the government of the Republic of Pakistan has completely secured the Rupal area where our climbers are and given to this, the expedition can carry on safely. In this moment, the only expedition on Nanga Parbat is the Romanian one and goes accordind to plan.
We thank to all who were involved in solving the security of our climbers, the government of the Republic of Pakistan, the Ministry of Romanian Foreign Affairs and especially to Mister Emilian Ion, the Romanian Ambassador in Islamabad who was in touch permanently with the lider of the expedtion Zsolt Torok and his wife, Minerva Torok.
We also want to thank those who were beside our team with thought and with supporting messages in this difficult period through which we passed.
