Many deadly accidents were caused by teens driving drunk, but other teens see these deadly crashes so why do they still do it. Lots of teens drive under the influence because many parents spoil their kids or are really rough with their kids, and lack of parental discussions about drinking and driving for friends giving advice. Also ads about alcohol lack to show the true dangers while under the influence and what they should do instead of driving themselves or others. Teens should never drink and drive since it puts innocent lives in danger and most importantly themselves. Most teens think if they had a few drinks they are good to go but no one is ever really good to go because it impairs your vision, judgement, and body control.
First of all, parents are either spoiling their kids with many expensive items or are mean or a bit mean to their children. When teens are spoiled so much by their parents they think they have no limit and don’t really care about what they do. Also when teens parents are mean to them by giving many lectures they tend to think that their parents don’t really care about when there usually over protective and then became careless about their actions even if it means endangering the lives of innocent people.
Secondly, alcohol ads on TV lack to show the many dangers that lurk with them when combined with driving. These ads on TV only tend to show how everyone is enjoying themselves. The truth of the matter is many people tend to get will under the influence. Alcohol impairs your common sense and judgement skills which usually make you do many stupid things. These ads should show how you should limit yourself, get a trusted friend or person to be there for just in case if you are unable to make your own decisions with a clear mind, and call a taxi or someone you trust to drive you home.
Thirdly, teens tend to think they are better and different than everyone else. Many teens may have seen these disturbing footages about deadly crashes by drunk teens but they usually claim that it was that specific person’s fault the accident happened in the first place. I personally know how many teens act because I am one of them but I learned to think differently because deadly crashes while being drunk can happen to anyone. Teens need more lectures or discussions about this topic in school and at home so they can better understand the importance of driving and drinking.
Some teenagers still drink and drive because they tend to think they either have no limit or they’re just careless, ads on TV lack to show the dangers of drinking and driving, and they lack the importance of the topic since they weren’t told about by important people such as their parents or teachers. If all these changes are made to teen’s lives then it would significantly lower the rate of drunk teens driving. Teens are stubborn but they need stronger role models to change and become better. If you have teens think about what can you do to try to prevent them from drinking and driving because they are just as equally at risk than any other teens?
