Erumpent ini adalah satwa gaib yang berasal dari Afrika. Para penyihir Afrika sangat berhati hati dengan Erumpent karena hewan ini cukup berbahaya.
Erumpent ini tinggal di daratan savannah.
Erumpent memiliki ukurannya cukup besar, kulit tebal yang bisa menangkis hampir seluruh mantra sehingga mereka sulit diserang, tanduk yang panjang dan terdapat cairan mematikan yang menyebabkan apapun yang mereka seruduk meledak. Tanduk ini sangat kuat, bisa menembus kulit sampai logam. Cairan dalam tanduknya itu juga dapat digunakan sebagai bahan ramuan.
Ciri mereka yang lainnya adalah ekor mereka panjang, tebal dan seperti tali tambang. Katanya, ekor mereka juga bisa digunakan sebagai bahan ramuan.
Salah satu hal menarik dari Erumpent adalah tentang perkembangbiakkan mereka. Erumpent mempunyai 'tarian' sendiri untuk menarik pasangannya. Erumpent jantan sering meledakkan diri mereka saat musim kawin. Hal ini menyebabkan jumlah Erumpent tidak begitu banyak di dunia ini. Selain itu, fakta bahwa Erumpent hanya bisa melahirkan satu ekor bayi per persalinan juga tidak membantu meningkatkan jumlah mereka.
