* '' Toplum için sanat. '' anlayışını benimsenmiştir.
* Milli Edebiyat anlayışıyla Halk Edebiyatı 'na yönelme söz konusudur.
* Anadolu halkının yaşamı, TÜRK tarihi ve kahramanlığı gibi yerli ve milli konular işlenmiştir.
* Bu dönemde Ziya Gökalp , Mehmet Emin Yurdakul ve Beş Hececiler bu anlayışla şiir yazmıştır.
* TÜRKÇÜLÜK ve Milliyetçilik fikirlerine geniş yer verilerek milli coşkuyu arttırıcı şiirler yazılmıştır.
2) Saf (Öz) Şiir :
* Amaç iyi ve güzel şiir yazabilmektir.
* Güzel şiir ancak çalışarak elde edilir.
* Aruz ölçüsüyle şiirler yazılmıştır.
* Şiirler ideolojinin esiri olmamalıdır.
* En değerli şey dizedir.
3) Halkın Yaşayış Tarzını ve Değerlerini Anlatan Manzumeler :
* Bu dönemin manzumelerinde nazım nesre yaklaştırılmıştır.
* Didaktik yönü ağır basan manzumeler yazılmıştır.
* Konusu halkın yaşamından alan manzumelerin öne çıkan ismi Mehmet Akif Ersoy 'dur.
* İslamcılık düşüncesini ön plana çıkaran şair manzumelerinde aruz ölçüsünü kullanmıştır.
* Bu dönemde toplumun siyasi ve ekonomik problemlerinin gerçekçi biçimde yansıtıldığı manzumeler yazılmıştır.
