How has blessings in my family helped me?
Every night my family and I read the scriptures. i have poor reading skills, and by reading the scriptures my reading skills has improved by a lot, my comprehension has improved and my understanding of the scriptures has improved also. When i was in 5th grade every body was reading 6th grade level in reading i was barely in 3rd grade reading skills. Every time i read the scriptures my reading skills improve. Before I moved to Fort Thomas i was not reading the scriptures i was always messing around with my friends instead of improving my reading skills. I really never understand the scriptures before i came to Fort Thomas. My family helps me some times to understand what we are reading. In seminary sister, Claridge helps me by explaing in a way that i understand when i get done reading. Another blessing is jean and my dad, have helped me with reading and understanding.
2 years ago I left the church i was drawn to a different belief which was non denominational Christian. The people believed in the trinity and when i moved to Fort Thomas jean and dad helped me come back to the LDS church and at first i thought it was dumb but then, as time was passed by I now realize, they were helping me understand the lds church again. Two other people know the story which is zack right and sister Nelson. a scripture touched me every time i read it or hear it and it is 2 Nephi 1-1-2 and it says
1 And now it came to pass that after I, Nephi, had made an end of teaching my brethren, our father, Lehi, also spake many things unto them, and rehearsed unto them, how great things the Lord had done for them in bringing them out of the land of Jerusalem.
2 And he spake unto them concerning their rebellions upon the waters, and the mercies of God in sparing their lives, that they were not swallowed up in the sea. and that says to me; that the lord is always there to help you out through hard thing. 'BARE TESTIMONY'.
