He was born in 1913 in Czestochowa. He graduated from junior high school. A. Mickiewicz in Warsaw (together with Jan Nowak-Jeziorański), and then studied medicine at the University of Warsaw. J.Piłsudski in Warsaw, as the subordinate of the School of Sanitary Officers.
Participant in the September campaign of Lieutenant-Colonel Health. During the war a soldier of the Home Army (doctor).
During the occupation he lived in the town of Rozwadów (now the district of Stalowa Wola). While practicing medicine, Dr. Stanislaw Matulewicz developed a method of counterfeiting typhus tests (in healthy people, giving positive results), saving many people from, for example, forced labor or arrest.
After the war, E. S. Lazarski became a fellowship of the Rockefeller Foundation. He worked at the Institute of Mother and Child in Warsaw. In 1958 he emigrated to the USA. Since 1976 he has been a professor of pediatrics at the State University of Illinois.
He described his wartime experiences in a renewed book "Private War". A documentary film was made on the basis of them, and they also became the subject of academic dissertations.
Eugeniusz Sławomir Łazowski lives permanently in the USA. In addition to the book referring to history, he wrote more than a hundred scientific papers in medicine, in Polish and English.
