Erni Bertanding di GOR Palabuhanratu, Kabupaten Sukabumi, Selasa (27/9/2016) itu, Erni menang 3-0 atas petinju NTT, Serlin Alin L. Kase pada kelas terbang (51 Kg). Kemeriahan pun tampak saat atlet kebanggaan warga Sunda ini tampil. Bahkan Pemerintah Kabupaten Sukabumi menurunkan ribuan suporternya baik dari kalangan pelajar hingga masyarakat umum pun ikut memberikan dukungan.
Erni berhasil mempersembahkan emas pertama untuk kontingen Jabar dari cabang olah raga tinju PON XIX 2016. “Saya senang dan ini merupakan sejarah bagi saya,” ucap Erni.
Erni telihat begitu senang saat wasit menyatakannya menang. “Ini PON pertama saya dan alhamdulillah langsung dapat emas. Saya harus berlatih lebih baik lagi agar bisa bertanding di level lebih tinggi. Terima kasih pelatih dan orang tua yang mendukung walaupun sempat tak diizinkan jadi petinju,” kata petinju berusia 28 tahun ini.
