Kulit merupakan organ terluar dari tubuh, bobot dari kulit ini 1/6 dari berat badan kita.
Kulit ini bervariasi dalam:
ketebalan, warna,distribusi rambut, dan kelenjar. selain itu juga derivat atau turunan dari kuli ini ada rambut, kuku, kelenjar sebasea (minyak), dan kelenjar sudorivera (keringat).
Fungsi dari kulit.
ada beberapa fungsi dari kulit diantaranya adalah sebagai perlindungan, sensai, termoregulator,dan fungsi metabolik.
Gambaran histologis kulit.
1. Epidermis.
2. Dermis yang berfungsi untuk mengatur suhu tubuh dan terdapat dibawah lapisan epidermis.
3. Hipodermis yang merupakan subdermis yang mengandung jaringan lemak dengan jumlah yang bervariasi.
Reseptor sensoris kulit.
1. Ujung saraf bebas
2. badan meissner
3. badan pacini
4. badan ruffini, dan
5. badan krause.
Kulit bervariasi dalam warna yang dapat ditentukan oleh :
- Pigmen karoten pada lemak.
- oksigenasi hemoglobin, dan
- melanin.
* Info tambahan, hati-hatilah jika menggunakan cream malam atau kosmetik karena tidak semua kosmetik bebas dari hidrokuinon. Hidrokuinon dapat membuat kulit menjadi cerah, namun berbahaya bagi tubuh karena hidrokuinon ini dapat menghentikan aktivitas melanin.
