For as far as I remember,I was always intrigued by the mechanisms involved in the functioning of devices used in our daily lives. My childhood was an exciting journey lead by curiosity through disassembling toy cars and Rubik’s cubes to making projects like All Terrain Vehicles and Jet Propelled Rockets at school. This journey taught me a lot, but then the more you learn the more you want to learn. Hence, I chose to pursue Engineering in Mechanical as an undergraduate after my high school.
Having interacted with quite a few mariners and getting to know about the scope of merchant navy I had quite a few reasons to pursue my career in merchant navy field. Being a sportsperson I would like to lead an active life rather than being desk borne. We might face up different challenge each day on ship which can’t happen with a job in any other field. I always like to travel and see new places and meet new people. Merchant navy will give me ample opportunities to pursue sports and adventure activities along with my work. Further I feel charmed by the glamour of the uniform and deeply respect the disciplined lifestyle attached with the uniform. It is one of the most dignified way to lead life. Moreover pays and perks attached to merchant navy is immeasurable. It is not a job but a way of life and I wish to integrate with it.
I am not the kind of person who does not think about the practicality of his or her ideas. I am one who not only considers the results, but the aftermath of the result as well. My company is important to me, which is why I am always mindful of the repercussions of my ideas and my actions. I am an efficient worker who is set and focused on getting things done in the right way. I believe in working smarter rather than working harder and I have always applied that principle in my life. I can perform exceptionally well, solo and with a group of people. I can contribute all my qualities that I posses such as good communication skills, ability to work in a team, adaptable in any environment. Further I will undertake responsibility and will try to complete it within stipulated time or before. All these qualities will help in contributing me to the growth of the company.
Every job has certain pros and cons attached with it. So to gain something in life we need to make small sacrifices which might look bigger at the initial stage but we might not regret in the near future. So a lucrative career in merchant navy might give us loneliness and emotional pain at once but we will surely have a great future ahead. Best way for getting over with seasickness is by telling yourself “I don’t get seasick!”. Repeating it 3 times in the mirror before departure will surely make us feel better as 99% of seasickness is mental. Moreover making friends with the shipmates and keeping ourselves busy with the work we can avoid loneliness. Somehow we need to turn that frown upside down. The calendar will change, the clock will move forward – it may be slower than you would like, but you will be back home. If we cannot make the best of the bad situation then it will hurt more, and we’ll gain nothing but misery. So we need to learn to cope.
My future aim for the next 10 years is to grow and enhance my technical skills while working for Anglo Eastern Shipping Management. I am thinking of doing up all the hard work to rise to the rank of second engineer or chief engineer by next 10 years. This course will help me to learn and explore new things in engineering technology and in-depth knowledge about new engineering methodologies and become a productive and a successful professional. If given an opportunity I am confident that I will be able to meet the high standards of academic process and research expected at the department.
My desire to pursue my GME course at Anglo Eastern Maritime Academy is because it has the most dynamic ambiance, which will shape me as a better thinker and a passionate learner. A company with ample opportunities for its employees is the one which will help in learning and Anglo Eastern Shipping Management is perfect for this.
