1. Jumlah Peserta PON XIX 2016
Perhelatan olahraga nasional pada tahun ini melibatkan 9.533 atlet. Dari Sabang sampai Merauke.
2. Maskot Surili Lili dan Lala
Maskot pada PON XIX kali ini telah dirilis dan diresmikan pada 8 Maret 2016 yang lalu. Maskot yang diperkenalkan adalah sosok bernama Surili dan Lala. Keduanya merupakan karakter fabel primata dari hewan bernama Surili Jawa (Presbytis comata) yang memiliki habitat di daerah Jawa Barat dan Banten.
3. Upacara Pembukaan dilakukan di GBLA
Upacara pembukaan PON XIX 2016 dilakukan di Stadion Gedebage yang kini bernama Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA). Stadion ini berdiri dilahan seluas 24,5 hektar dan memiliki kapasitas sebesar 38.000 penonton.
4. Fasilitas Live Streaming
PON XIX 2016 kali ini akan lebih modern dan mudah diakses masyarakat Indonesia berkat adanya aplikasi live streaming, "PON 2016" yang tersedia untuk ponsel pintar berbasis Android.
5. Gurilaps, tema pembukaan PON XIX 2016
Bila umumnya upacara pembukaan menggunakan satu tema khusus, pada pembukaan PON XIX 2016 ini, memiliki tema Gurilaps. Gurilaps sendiri memiliki arti Gunung, Rimba, Laut, Pantai, dan Sungai. Berbagai kemeriahan yang mengandung unsur-unsur tersebut.
