Tear in my heart: is about Tyler having demons he deals with, Jenna does not, Jenna took an interest in Tyler and Tyler is afraid to show her his demons/insecurities and break him down. He is afraid because she can end it or break it. "Love is a scary thing. It's trusting someone with everything that you have and they could decide to crush it at any moment." -Tyler (to show his thoughts about it). Jenna finally proved him wrong (reference, am I right?) And became the tear in his heart. Let's go verse from verse. What I said just then is very basic and each verse is something special. The first verse (if your not sure which lyrics is in which verse just look up the lyrics) is about him saying that to be alive and be in a committed relationship you have to get hurt. People can't fulfill everything you want out of them but they will try, sometimes you want that sometimes you don't but in that you have to get hurt. "But it takes someone..." part I believe is blurryface talking, saying it's gonna take time to come around and tell you everything which is fine but Tyler/Blurryface is always scared to open up and will keep repeating that. He is also saying "I need someone to love me and show me what being alive is supposed to feel like." The chorus is saying that Jenna broke Tyler's fear of her finding out and now that it's out he feels free, alive, on fire, high, just a ride of happy emotions but it took pain to get there. Tyler is known of being depressed and writing about that right? Now he is saying how happy he is, he only wrote/did that because of Jenna because he can truly trust Jenna. The second verse is saying how songs on the radio are popular and well known, Jenna isnt that well known (comparing her like a song to the popular songs on the radio) he would rather have her instead of the popular ones. It can also mean that songs are filled with meaning and Beauty but Jenna has more beauty and meaning to him than a song. Also here he is saying it takes a song, not someone. I think this means... well Tyler is known for expressing his emotions through song writing and when he tries to tell Jenna how much she means to him he can't say it exactly like he wants to so he says it takes a song (this song) to show you how I feel. The bridge is my favorite piece filled with metaphors. She fell asleep in his car part is a metaphor, I think it means Jenna and Tyler getting closer and closer that they can rely and trust each other. He will try to avoid the holes which is his dark thoughts he has but Jenna is "asleep" and he doesn't want to disturb her with his problems. Or it could be Tyler referencing the car in car radio how when he is in a car he thinks too much but Jenna has no problem and just sleeps peacefully so he will try to avoid the holes when he drives with her. The cursing my government part could be about how this world is full of depressed people but nobody can do nothing about it except help people but nobody has helped him fully until Jenna came. So government is the people and taxes would be the support they give. Filling the holes with more cement means there are less problems he has to face, less problems he will try to avoid with Jenna. MY Taxes could also mean him blaming himself for not being as happy and open as Jenna is but more depressed so the government would be him in this case and the taxes would be his emotions. The outro is beautiful and ugh I love it. He says his heart is his armor which means not a lot of people get to him and break him down but she's the tear in his armored heart. She's a carver meaning she did not give up to get to the bottom of Tyler and craved her way through that took time. Jenna actually wrote something saying that she liked that Tyler added her smiling in (she's a butcher with a smile) and I think Tyler really enjoys her smiles as well. Cut me farther than I ever been means Jenna took the time to get through his heart and got to him more than anyone has ever gotten. Now how to relate this to the awesome music video: Tyler stares at people and the camera zooms in and their eyes/face widen and Tyler looks a little scared and intimidated. This shows that Tyler feels insecure and afraid with other people but when it shows Jenna it doesn't change at all and so he follows her. This part is showing when they didn't know each other Tyler still felt that safe secure feeling with her and so he followed that feeling. You see when he follows her down a weird alley that little detail shows that it was rough trying to get to her and her getting to him. When the place starts exploding is the bridge part and I feel like that shows where Tyler is talking about the insecurities instead of the love for her and so things start going haywire. The café part shows Jenna beating up Tyler's ass, but let's take a closer look. Jenna was repeating the "you have to bleed to know..." part telling Tyler that if we carry on you have to get hurt, both knowing that. We also know Tyler doesn't want to make Jenna feel sad or mad but he replies with "but it takes someone..." making Jenna mad and remember when I said I felt like that was Blurryface and the reason behind that? Well Jenna realized that was his Blurryface (insecurity, doubt, etc.) Side of him talking and she wants the real/true Tyler she sees at times and starts beating up Blurryface to get rid of him and get towards Tyler. At the end you see him hurt and BLEEDING ("sometimes you got to BLEED") they took that metaphor and made it into real life in the music video. But because he was hurt, Blurryface was defeated. Jenna makes Tyler look her in the eyes and Tyler realizes what Jenna did and how much she's done to get there and they kiss, showing the true love and how much it took to get to that point.
