NEFS-İ RÂDİYE
Allah'tan razı ve hoşnud olan insan ruhu. Hayvani nefse (cana) ve insanı ruha (nefs-i natıka'ya) da "nefis" denilir. Hayvani nefis, hayvanlarla insanlar arasında müşterektir. Hayvanlar kendilerinde insanî ruh olmadığı için nefislerinin gereğini yerine getirmek için yaşarlar. Nefis (can), tabiatının gereği olarak kendisini korumak, neslini devam ettirmek ve hayvanî lezzetleri tatmak için çalışıp çabalar. Hayvanî nefsin mantıkı, canlılık faaliyetlerine ait isteklerdir. Hayvanî nefis, haz ve zevk alma prensipleriyle hareket eder.
