Huruf kanji Jepang hampir sama dengan huruf kanji China tetapi tentunya masing-masing berbeda cara membacanya. Pertama, saya bakal ngerangkum tentang cara membaca angka Jepang.
Angka-angka Jepang memiliki tulisan yang sama dengan negara kita yaitu Indonesia. Tetapi, cara membacanyalah yang berbeda. Contoh dalam bahasa Jepang,
0 dibaca Re i
1 dibaca I ch i
2 dibaca Ni
3 dibaca San
4 dibaca Shi/Yan
5 dibaca Go
Dan lain-lain. Dan ini istilah istilah yang bisa digunakan
Choudo = tepat
Mae = kurang
Sugi = lebih
Gozen = dini hari; pagi (a.m)
Gogo = siang; sore; malam (p.m)
Nanji = jam berapa?
~Ji = jam --
~Han = setengah --
Ima = sekarang
Contoh menanyakan jam dalam bahasa jepang adalah 'ima nan-ji desuka?' Yang artinya 'sekarang jam berapa?' Dan saat menjawab kata diakhir kalimat ditambahkan dengan ~ji. Misalnya adalah
- Ichi-ji (jam satu)
- Ni-ji (jam dua)
- San-ji (jam tiga)
- Yo-ji (jam empat)
Dan seterusnya. Jika jamnya tidak pas kita bisa menambahkan kata ~pun/ppun diakhir kata. Misalnya
☆ Ippun (satu menit)
☆ Nifun (dua menit)
☆ Sanpun (tiga menit)
☆ Yonpun (empat menit)
☆ Gofun (lima menit)
Dan ini adalah contoh kalimatnya
~ Ima choudo san-ji desu (sekarang jam tiga tepat 3.00)
~ Ima san-ji go-gun sugi desu (sekarang jam tiga lewat lima menit 3.05)
Untuk menerangkan waktu pagi, siang, sore dan malam menggunakan kata Gozen (untuk waktu jam 12 malam sampai jam 12 siang) dan Gogo (untuk waktu jam 12 siang sampai jam 12 malam).
Contoh kalimat:
> Ima gozen hachi-ji gofun sugi desu (sekarang jam delapan lewat lima pagi)
> Ima gogo hachi-ju gofun sugi desu (sekarang jam delapan lewat lima malam).
