UN peacekeeping initiative is unique and need of the hour. People tend to judge the UN for its peacekeeping failures, especially in Palestine, but don’t seem to realize the good that’s come out of them. The UN has ended conflicts in dozens of countries people don’t even know had conflicts, such as Cambodia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mozambique, Namibia and Tajikistan.

As for impact assessment, it has saved us from the World War Three, had the UN not existed. Events such as
Cold War (USA vs. USSR), Uri and/or Pathankot (India vs. Pakistan), Tibet (A lot of countries vs. China),
Korean War (North Korea + USSR + Soviet Bloc vs. South Korea + USA + American Bloc) would have erupted new wars between the nations.

Honestly, the world needs a communication platform for itself, and at its most basic the UN is that and more. It allows for international cooperation and development. And of course, nations don’t cooperate, when has anyone cooperated with everyone else? But in reality, despite how flawed it is, the UN is a noble venture, one which has helped everyone, but perhaps not in the way you may think it has.
