Round 1: In a magic circle, ch 2 (does not count as a dc throughout pattern as I use this to make a more seamless appearance in my hats) before placing 12 dc in to the circle. Pull circle tightly closed. Join with sl st in top of beginning st of round. (12 dc)
Round 2: Ch 2 before placing *2 dc in first st and 2 dc in each of the following 11 st around. Join with sl st in top of 1st st. (24 dc)
Round 3: Ch 2 before making *2 dc in 1st st and 1 dc in next st.* Repeating * pattern for next 22 st around. Join with sl st in top of 1st st. (36 dc)
Round 4: Ch 2 before making *2 dc in 1st st and 1 dc in next 2 st.* Repeating * pattern for next 33 st around. Join with sl st in top of 1st st. (48 dc)
Round 5: Ch 2 before making *2 dc in 1st st and 1 dc in next 3 st.* Repeating * pattern for next 44 st around. Join with sl st in top of 1st st. (60 dc)
Round 6 -13: Ch 2 before placing 1 dc in 1st st and 1 dc in each of the remaining 59 st around. Join with sl st to top of beginning st. (60 dc)
Round 14: Ch 1 before placing 1 sc in 1st st and 1 sc in each of the remaining 59 st around. Join with sl st in top of 1st st. (60 sc)
Cut yarn leaving a short tail to finish off the project. Pull tail through and weave in ends with your large blunt eye yarn / tapestry needle before cutting off any extra length left behind to fasten off hat.That’s it!
