Merupakan perilaku atau suatu potensi terjadinya perilaku yang telah ada di dalam suatu individu. Perilakua yang timbul karena bawaan lahir berkembang secara tepat atau pasti. Perilaku ini tidak perlu adanya pengalaman atau memerlukan proses belajar dan sering kali terjadi pada saat baru lahir dan perilaku ini bersifat genetis (diturunkan).
Yang dimaksud dengan FAP?
-> FAP adalah suatu perilaku stereotipik yang disebabkan adanya stimulus yang spesifik. Contohnya saat anak burung baru menetas akan selalu membuka mulutnya, kemudian induknya akan menaruh makanan didalam mulut anak burung tersebut. Contoh lainnya adalah anak bebek yang baru menetas akan masuk kedalam air. Perilaku ini ttelah “diprogramkan sebelumnya”, dengan kata lain, tidak diperlukan proses belajar. Induk burung tidak perlu belajar memberikan makanan kepada anaknya yang beru menetas, ana bebek tidak perlu belajar berenang. Contoh lainnya seperti riyual perkawinan, mempertontonkan keindahan (kejantanan) untuk menguasai suatu area (teritori).
