Last week on TWD Season 7 premiere, we finally found out who Negan (Jeffery Dean Morgan) killed. Negan beat Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) to a bloody pulp with Lucille. Rosita (Christian Serratos) then started crying, and Negan taunted her. So Daryl (Norman Reedus) got up and hit Negan. Negan was so enraged that he killed Glenn (Steven Yeun) too. And Yeun thinks Daryl will ultimately blame himself for what happened to his friend.
"I think Daryl is a character that will blame himself," Yeun said after last week's Walking Dead Season 7 episode. "I think that’s enough for him. Even if it’s not real or even if it’s not accurate or fair, I think he would shoulder that type of burden. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with that and I’m sure Norman will crush it."
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO DARYL ON 'THE WALKING DEAD'? UPDATE ...
No matter who is to blame, TWD fans were devastated when Glenn died. But showrunner Robert Kirkman insisted that Glenn's death was necessary for future storylines.
"It’s just that there’s a lot of material that comes from Glenn’s death in the comics," Kirkman said after The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere. "And while we do try to change things up to keep things interesting for the audience, and for me, this is one that there’s so much that comes from Rick [Andrew Lincoln], there’s so much with Negan, because that character is someone that he killed, and definitely Maggie [Lauren Cohan] is someone that kind of gets put on the trajectory that affects a great number of stories and a great number of characters moving forward."
So what will happen on Episode 2 of The Walking Dead Season 7? The synopsis for "The Well" reveals that Carol and Morgan will discover "a new well-established community that seems too good to be true." Spoilers reveal that this new land will be The Kingdom, a land led by King Ezekiel (Khary Payton).
Watch a sneak peek of Morgan and Carol in TWD Season 7 Episode 2, "The Well."
"You have this guy walking around and people are calling him King Ezekiel, and you have these Biblical quotes that are on display all over the Kingdom, and people follow him," producer Greg Nicotero told EW before Episode 2 of TWD Season 7. "And at first glance you look at this and you go, 'This can’t be real. There’s got to be something that’s f--ked up about it,' because there’s no way that this place could have existed, but that’s the beauty of Ezekiel."
'WALKING DEAD' PREMIERE LEAVES PLENTY OF UNANSWERED QUESTIONS ...
In the comics, The Kingdom is under Negan's control by the time we meet Ezekiel. But the King is determined to take down the Walking Dead villain.
