IMPORTANT: Change to our Website Approval Guidelines

Our sole aim at Mellow Ads is to excel in our position as the leading bitcoin, banner advertising network. To do this we need to continue providing a high quality service for our customers - both advertisers and publishers.

Since we originally drew up our Website Approval Guidelines back in July 2015 our publisher network has grown massively to the point that we are now averaging over 250 million ad impressions per day = over 7.5 billion impressions per month. This has helped attract a lot of quality advertisers, most of whom keep coming back to start more campaigns after they see the results they can get from our traffic.

However with this growth has come a significant increase in fraud/scam publishers who are trying to cheat our system with fake impressions and/or clicks. If this sort of activity was left unchecked it would affect everyone negatively...

Advertisers would get poor value for their campaigns
Good publishers would lose out on network pool earnings
We would see our reputation tarnished

Fortunately we have developed strong fraud prevention and detection systems that check for this activity. When this is detected we perform a manual investigation and we do not hesitate to ban the accounts of these publishers if this is appropriate. This combined automatic/manual detection process has become more and more sophisticated and of course time consuming. Therefore we have taken the decision to revise the Website Approval Guidelines with the following important change, so that we can free our resources to allow us to work on other parts of the Mellow Ads system...

Effective immediately (28th October 2016) we will only accept new applications for websites with Alexa ranking in the top 200,000

If you submit your website for approval but it is outside the top 200,000 Alexa ranking then it will be automatically rejected (previously this threshold was top 1 million)

Note: Websites that are already approved and active on our network but are outside the top 200,000 will not be rejected automatically. However we will be undergoing a process of rigorous manual checks over the next few weeks to deal with any that are not complying with the other criteria in the guidelines.

We realise that this is a significant change, but we are confident that it will help Mellow Ads to continue to grow and improve. We will of course review this again at regular intervals and make further changes if neccesary (you will be notified of course!).
