Mr. Papagayo is not an exceptional teacher. I've had very good teachers who were perfect in every aspect, but Mr. Papagayo just doesn't meet standards. He may be an "okay" teacher, but I don't think he's "good". His class lessons are unclear and confusing; he never elaborates on the concepts and expects peers to help each other, many of whom (in some classes) are not very helpful in many ways. He always seems to be rushing his lessons and it just strikes me that he doesn't "care" as much about whether students understand the concepts; he just moves on. His class basically goes like this: he presents a new concept, gives some notes, gives worksheets to do the problems and expects students to fully answer them correctly without sufficiently supplying enough information to understand the concept. This leads to increased private textbook use at home so the students can learn on their own. Unless students review their notes thoroughly and use online resources to aid their learning (more often than necessary), He asks peers to answer the questions of his students sometimes instead of helping them by himself, but he also answers questions the students have, at times. In conclusion, his "teaching", (or lack thereof) method just doesn't work for me. This is kind of irrelevant but he always dresses well (I guess he must be rich?). I really don't know how knowledgeable he is, however, since much of what he "teachs" can easily be obtained from reading the textbook or researching online. I really don't understand why he still keeps the job despite his lack of appreciation for teaching. I get that teachers are subject to stress, too, but they should still do their best to provide quality lessons so their students excel in the respective subjects. His personality's okay, I guess, but he seems like the type of person who acts arrogant, impatient, and condescending at [times]. I can tell that he tries, but isn't as helpful as he thinks he is being. Thanks for reading, and I hope Mr. Papagayo (who hopefully reads this) gets some feedback from my loong post.
