จุดเริ่มต้นต้องย้อนกลับไปเมื่อประมาณ 15 ปีที่แล้ว ประเทศไทยมีการใช้รถมอเตอร์ไซค์กันอย่างแพร่หลาย แต่เป็นรถบ้านๆทั่วไป เช่น Wave 100 , Mio , spark ฯลฯ ในสมัยนั้นเรียกได้ว่าคนที่จะขี่บิ๊กไบค์แทบจะนับคันได้ เนื่องจากในตอนนั้นบิ๊กไบค์มีราคาค่อนข้างสูงและไม่เป็นที่นิยมในหมู่คนไทย ตลาดบิ๊กไบค์ก็เลยล่มสลายเพราะบริษัทที่จะมาทำตลาดในประเทศไทยต่างก็ถอนตัวออกไปกันหมด ต่อมาช่วงประมาณปี พ.ศ. 2548 กระแสรถมอเตอร์ไซค์เริ่มบูมขึ้นอีกครั้งจากการนำ kawasaki ksr เข้ามาตีตลาดในประเทศไทย ซึ่งเป็นรถมินิไบค์ที่สร้างชื่อเสียงให้กับ kawasaki และปลุกกระแสมอเตอร์ไซค์ยุคใหม่ขึ้นมา...ต่อมาในปี พ.ศ. 2551 ช่วงนี้เป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของตลาดรถมอเตอร์ไซค์ขนาดใหญ่ จากการที่ kawasaki นำรถ kawasaki ninja 250r เข้ามาตีตลาดในประเทศไทยแบบจริงจัง จากนั้นก็เกิดเป็นกระแสนิยมรถบิ๊กไบค์ต่อมาเรื่อยๆจนมาถึงปัจจุบัน เรียกได้ว่าช่วง 8 ปีที่ผ่านมา ตลาดรถมอเตอร์ไซค์และรถคันใหญ่ หรือที่คนไทยเรียกกันติดปากว่า บิ๊กไบค์ มีการเติบโตขึ้นทุกปี นั่นแหละคือที่มาของตลาดรถมอเตอร์ไซค์ในประเทศไทยในปัจจุบันนั่นเอง
