with increasing distance from the source of the river colin, the size of the bed load increased. This can be seen in graph 3 where there is an overall decrease in the number of large rocks (<1000cm2) and an overall increase in the number of small rocks (<200cm2) from site 1 to site 10. In graph 3 it shows how there was a gradual increase in the number of small rocks from 2 at site 1 ,200m from the source to 10 at site 10, 2000m from the source. From site 1 to site 5 there was an increase in the number of small rocks from 2 to 6 rocks, there was also a decrease in the number of large rocks from site 1 to site 5, 1000m from the source, 5 rocks to 3 large rocks. From site 5 to site 7, 1400m from the source there was a decrease in the number of small rocks from 6 to 5 rocks. There continued to be a decrease in the number of large rocks from site 5 to site 7, 3 large rocks at site 5 to 2 large rocks at site 7. from site 7 to site 10 there was an increase in the number of small rocks from 5 small rocks to 10 small rocks. there was also a decrease in the number of large rocks from 2 at site 7 to 0 at site 10. An anomaly with these results are that there arent enough small rocks at site 7, 1400m from the source as there are only 5 small rocks.
With increasing distance downstream, the shape of the bedload became rounder as we mover further down the river. This can be seen in graph 7 where there is an overall decrease in the number of angular rocks (1-3 on the power's index) and an overall increase in the number of rounded rocks (4-6 on the power's index). In graph 7 we can see that the number of rounded rocks increased from 0 at site 1 to 10 at site 10, 2000m from the source. The number of angular rocks decreased from 10 at site 1 , 200m from the source to 0 at site 10. From site 1 to site 6, 1200m from the source, the number of angular rocks decreased from 10 at site 10 to 6 at site 6. There was also an increase in the number of rounded rocks from site 1 to site 6, the number of rounded rocks increased from 0 to 4. There was a large decrease in the number of angular rocks from site 6 to site 10, from 6 at site 6 to 0 at site 10. There was also a large increase in the number of rounded rocks from 4 at site 6, 1200m from the source to 10 at site 10. Some anomalies with these results were that from site 3 to site 4 there was an increase in the number of angular rocks from 8 angular rocks at site 3 to 9 at site 4, there was also a decrease in the number of rounded rocks from site 3 to site 4, from 2 rounded rock to 1 rounded rock. There were also more angular rocks are site 4 than we expected.
