These Minecraft Ancient City Redesigns Are Gloriously Green

Minecraft builders are renovating 1.19 update's ancient cities as if they never got ruined.

As if the dark and gloomy were not enough, brave builders are currently pulling off entire revamps of Minecraft 1.19's huge new ancient cities. You know, just a bit of light building between other projects.

The massive ruined structures found deep beneath are frightening by default: ruined pillars dotted the dark, covered with sculk and the shriekers who are ready to summon an army of guards if you don't tip-toe through their territory.

Perhaps the wardens are just unhappy because their homes are in disrepair though. These builders are restoring the old cities to their former glory. Some have been completely remodeled with lush cave greenery to prove they used to be life-sustaining genuine cities. Some add legends of their own and illuminate the darkness with a plethora of bright blocks. At least one of them decided to keep the spooky feel. Perhaps the cities of the past were always dangerous. The builders were often so determined that they built their structures in a rigid style and were not creative. I'm not going to be caught doing that.

Most of these builds get support for their lively appearance from the best Minecraft shaders and Minecraft texture packs. Here are some of the most original and stunning designs for ancient cities and hyperlinks to the creators. As always, this is just the most recent in Minecrafting. We've also gathered some stunning desert temples redesigns as well as underwater bases and many more of the best Minecraft designs.

The restored city of Unsorted Guy brings back the dark and deep to a time before it was overrun by sculk and wardens. Unsorted Guy shows how he began by replacing all the sculk in the city with deepslate blocks. He also transformed the ceilings into stalactites, and brought tons and tons of vines from the lush caves. In addition to restoring all the structures, Unsorted Guy relocates some grass blocks and digs out a pond, even builds his own version of an old city farm. The place was truly full of life at one point. With all that water, the final build definitely has a secret mountain city vibe to it.

I'm getting massive Atlantis vibes from this reimagined ancient city by Andyisyoda. There's also plenty of greenery added to the scene. I guess no one wants to imagine that these underground cities were always grey and uncolored, right?

In the build timelapse embedded above you can watch Andyisyoda building high-fantasy bridges over an ocean of water and dripping with vines. Don't worry, they kept some of the spookiness with a lava moat circling the massive center portal. At the end of the day there's an entire sunken city surrounded by towers, huge draping greenery and walls of light.

As if creating the city manually wasn't difficult enough, Fixxitt412 has managed it entirely in hardcore survival mode, meaning there's no life after death, for the course of 100 days. Fixxitt's build is also super green, with manicured areas of flowers and farms, but they haven't completely eradicated all sculk. This feels like a nice addition.

The building has a magical look to it with lots of lights and stained glass emanating from the copper conduits on top of the central portal. F-email.Org They've even made plans for houses for a group of villagers to descend and live in the darkness, but I do wonder how long they'd survive.

Another lush subterranean city was built by RandomGgames (opens in new tab) and OceanManRulesZaWardo. This one is more crowded and could even be abandoned like the other ancient cities. Similar to the other stunning green buildings, this one utilizes a lot of vines and leaves, bringing in some classic old glowstone blocks to light. It appears that the two have cleared out pretty much all the sculk and replaced it with wooden walkways and arches made of deep slate.

This "build" is actually just two images (opens in a new tab) but not a fully-fledged undercity, but it's an amazing image that I couldn't help but include it for all the other people in the room.

This is the exact opposite of all the calming green, lush recreations Seggie has made of the city's history. Seggie could have made this city more terrifying than a Nether fortress if the possibility ever came up. The skull archway and blue flames are extremely threatening.

This is not an official Minecraft build. It's a Lego set design based off the ancient cities created by Veyniac540 (opens in new tab). But , seriously, that's really cool. They've also put together building instructions and parts list for those who are looking to build it yourself (opens in new tab). After you get done building things inside Minecraft.
