Minecraft is now available for multiplayer play on any device
Microsoft's brand new Xbox One X was launched with gamers receiving an update on the latest Minecraft news. The most important thing is that Minecraft is now accessible across all devices.
Microsoft talked about the most recent Minecraft update during its big E3 show.
Minecraftservers
The "Better Together Update" unifies console, mobile and Windows 10 versions of the game.
The latest update also includes better graphics and cross-platform support to allow Windows 10 and mobile Minecraft players play the game together.
Minecraft will no longer use any branding that is associated with Minecraft for Xbox One, Nintendo Switch or mobile games. Instead, they'll be called "Minecraft". There's a 'Minecraft: Java Edition', which is the original game for PC (still available).
The company explained that the brand's unified design was designed to let buyers know that they are all playing the same game and that they can play with anyone regardless of what device they use.
These devices are compatible with unison gaming:
- Windows 10 - iOS - Android - XBox One - Nintendo's Switch
If you own Minecraft for mobile or VR, they'll receive an update for the summer. Owners of Minecraft for Xbox One and Nintendo Switch will get a free update, and all the existing worlds created by players will be available in the game's new version.
All downloaded content will be accessible on all devices as of the new update. So a pack bought on mobile will be available on Xbox and Windows 10 editions too.
In addition to the other benefits, Minecraft is throwing in the server browser in its latest update. The launch will include four servers: Lifeboat, Mineplex, InPVP and Cubecraft which allows players to join public servers that have monthly users that number in the millions, according to the company.
