Avanos Medical, FDA and Avanos Medical, FDA and the FDA have issued a Class 1 Recall for about 629 units CORTRAK*2 Ental Access System. Avanos Medical This feeding tube-placement device has been implicated in many deaths and injuries.
Avanos Medical feeding tube Avanos Mediacal Cortrak 2 The devices were released between April 1st, 2016 to January 1, 2022. The devices are employed by healthcare professionals to insert feeding tubes into stomachs of patients or in the intestines.
Cortrak 2 eternal access system Avanos Medical Incorrect placement of nasogastric as well as Nasoenteric tube is the reason for 23 deaths and 60 injuries since 2015.
The recall is being utilized to modify the device's label to instruct users to make sure that the tube has been properly set up prior to feeding.
