Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was born December 7th 1963 in Edo State in Nigeria. He grew up in a faith-filled family with loving, committed parents. He was the oldest of four children born to Elder T.E Oyakhilome, one of the early pioneers of the Assemblies of God Church in Benin City, and Angelina who is the matriarch of the Oyakhilome family, who imparted her divine grace upon her son at an early age.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome began his studies in Edo College. After a scholarship was awarded to study architecture at Bendel State University (now Ambrose Ali University) He received a BSc degree in Architecture, and an honorary Doctor of Science. He is a recipient of an honorary degree in divinity from Benson Idahosa University. While at Ambrose Ali University, he received a call from God to join the ministry and be an ambassador for the Lord.

While still in university While still in university, the Man of God started what would later be the largest congregation worldwide. It began with the formation of a small prayer group known as 'Youth for Christ'. The group would later become the basis for LoveWorld Incorporated and Christ Embassy as well as eventually millions of followers around the world.

The LoveWorld ministry was established under the direction of Pastor Chris. It is a pioneer in satellite television, Christian TV production and programming. LOVEWORLDSAT was first Christian television station to broadcast out of Africa throughout the day on free-to air channels. The Man, God, has established a variety of non-profit organizations with the goal to provide essential aid and provide hope. COFI is a partnership of five who are committed to improving living standards in the least-served regions.

COFI is accountable for the InnerCity Mission ICM for Children, the Volunteer Medical Corps VMC, Traumacare International Foundation TCIF, Future Africa Leaders Foundation (FALF) in addition to the Bible For All Mission. Each of these organizations works to improve the lives and health of the most vulnerable.
