Avanos Medical Recalls Cortrak*2 Ental Access System
Avanos Medical, a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) company is recalling Cortrak*2 enteral access system because of misplacement of nasoenteric tubes or nasogastric tubs that could have caused injuries and even death of patients. The recall covers 629 devices which were distributed throughout the United States.

Avanos Mediacal Cortrak 2 Avanos markets the Cortrak*2 enteral access system that allows its visualisation of the small bowel and stomach, which helps in placing a medical feeding tube. There have been a variety of injuries, including respiratory failure, pneumothorax or collapsed lung, perforation (a hole through the lung's wall or the bowel) pneumonia, and pleural effusion, which is an excess of fluid between your lungs and your chest cavity.
