Avanos Medical and FDA issued a Class 1 recall of 629 CORTRAK*2 the enteral access system. It is a feeding tube positioning device linked to many fatalities and injuries.

Avanos Mediacal Cortrak 2 Avanos Mediacal Cortrak 2 The incorrect placement of the nasogastric tube and nasoenteric tube has been the source of more than 60 injuries and 23 deaths since the year 2015.
The recall is utilized to modify the label of the device, which will instruct users to make sure that the tube is properly placed prior to delivering food.
