The FDA has identified Avanos Medical's recall of the Cortrak*2 useal access system. Since March 21st in 2016, 629 of the devices were recalled across the U.S.
Cortrak*2 helps clinicians place medical feeding tubes inside the stomachs or small bowels of patients who need to be fed by the tube.
The recall was brought on by reports of death and injuries from patients who suffered from nasocentric or nasogastric mistaken placement. This device is utilized for helping to place these tubes.
