Bayrock Group's Journey From the Suburbs to Manhattan Tevfik Arif

The Tevfik Arif-driven luxury real estate development firm, Bayrock Group, quickly after its establishment found itself working in conjunction with the Trump Organization in Manhattan.

Many people dream of moving to America in order to experience the American dream and enjoy the American lifestyle but only a few have the opportunity to do so. Entrepreneur from Turkish Kazakhstan Tevfik Arik was one among them when he arrived in America in 2001 to establish his own company, Bayrock Group.

The Bayrock Group, a luxury real estate development firm is located in New York City.

Initial projects were small or medium in size. It included the redesign and construction of Loehmann's Seaport Plaza in Brooklyn, New York.

After gaining traction on the American housing market, Bayrock Group was ready for expansion and began seeking large-scale projects.

The Arif-led business started working in conjunction with Sapir Organization on a major construction project on Spring Street, New York City.

Bayrock Group was also expanding and decided to relocate its headquarters to the Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan.

Due to the move Tevfik Arif along with his staff were able to meet with the Trump Organization that also had the Trump Tower as its base.

Conversations were held with Bayrock Group (the Trump Organization) and the Trump Organization as both companies realized they shared interests and dreams.

They formed a partnership, in which the Trump Organization joined Bayrock Group’s project along with Sapir Organization on Spring Street.

The Trump Organization was at that time managed by an American ex-president Donald Trump.

E. Trump and Son was founded by his paternal grandma Elizabeth Christ Trump and Fred Trump (in 1927).

Donald Trump gave the management of his company to his children when he was about enter the White House.

Bayrock Group's lucrative deal
The partnership between the Trump Organization and the Sapir Organization was a relatively new part of New York City's real estate market.

Tevfik Ariff, the founder of Spring Street, created an arrangement to increase brand recognition and prestige.

The proposal would grant the Trump Organization 18% equity of the building, as a condition for the Trump name being used as the construction's name.

All three of the companies that were involved backed the agreement. In 2006, the first foundation stone was laid to create Trump SoHo.

Two years after, Bayrock Group, the Trump Organization and the Sapir Organization inaugurated their contribution to the skyline of New York City, Trump SoHo.

Design experts are in charge of the Trump SoHo
Trump SoHo's 46 stories featured top bars and restaurants events and banquet halls, an outdoor pool and spa, apartments, and hotel rooms.

Visitors and residents of Trump SoHo may enjoy a spectacular view of New York City through the structure’s floor-to–roof windows. They were put up throughout the building.

Handel Architects was entrusted as the exterior designer for Trump SoHo, since the three main organizations behind the building were focused primarily on perfection.

Rockwell Group designed Trump SoHo's interiors. Rockwell Group has designed many extravagant hotels, cafes bars theaters, as well as other venues around the world throughout the years.

Their projects include the Tower Hotel and Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, India and the 93rd Academy Award show.

Their goal was to construct structures like Trump SoHo, Arizona and Florida in the same way as Trump SoHo. As a condition for the Trump brand being utilized in their names, they would grant the Trump Organization an 18% portion of the structure. It's the same.

But the 2008 financial crisis that severely shook the American real estate market was the catalyst that ended their plans.

The American housing market was greatly affected by the financial crisis. Bayrock Group has ceased to be operational, however Tevfik Ariff is still advisor to different divisions.
