Mojang has launched its Minecraft Realms subscription service in North America, offering hosting and setup for multiplayer Minecraft worlds starting at just $13 per month.
Mojang states that the service is of particular benefit for parents as Minecraft Realms makes it easy to create the child's own sandbox and limit it to only invited users. A backup feature is included in the subscription fee which allows users to make changes that aren't wanted and roll back worlds back to their previous state.

Minecraft Realms allows up to 10 players to join at one time. The service will host minigames and other in-game events on a regular basis. Subscribers who sign up for a three or six-month subscription package will be eligible for discounts. The service is currently limited to the PC version of Minecraft however support for Minecraft: Pocket Edition is scheduled for a future update. [Image: Mojang]
