Xbox Live Crash Leaves Millions of Gamers Inaccessible

Microsoft's online gaming service Xbox Live has suffered a major crash that left players inaccessible.

Many gamers have reported issues around the world when trying to sign in to the service that allows gamers to play online multiplayer games in addition to purchase and download games.

The company claimed that it was working on a solution to the issue, but was unable to confirm when it would be back.

Many gamers have reported problems across the globe when trying to sign up to the service that allows gamers to play online multiplayer games as well as buy and download titles.

The Xbox Live team's engineers and developers are working to find a solution to the issue causing some members to have problems accessing Xbox Live,' it said.

'Stay tuned, and thanks for your patience. '

It comes days after Microsoft launched an attack on YouTube and Amazon's Twitch by buying its own livestreaming service.

The Xbox maker announced plans to purchase Beam, a live-streaming service based in Seattle and founded by Matt Salsamendi (18 years old).

The teen who launched his company in January says it has already seen 100,000 users.

It lets users influence and interact with the game streamed, unlike other streaming services.

Beam lets viewers suggest challenges for streamers and modify in-game elements such as weapon loadout or quest selection.

Today, the Xbox maker announced plans to acquire live streaming service Beam which is a Seattle-based startup created by Matt Salsamendi (18 years old).

It also allows developers to create special button layouts for viewers to interact with games streamed on Beam.

"We at Xbox are thrilled about this convergence of watching and playing and want players to have the flexibility and choice of amazing multiplayer experiences across all Beam's platforms." Chad Gibson, a program manager for partner groups in Microsoft's Xbox Live division said in an announcement.

'This acquisition will help gamers play the games they want with the people they like, and on the devices they desire.'

The details of the agreement have not been revealed.

He explained how the system may work with Minecraft.

'Using 'Minecraft' as one example with Beam you don't just watch your favorite streamers play, you play along with them.

"You can take on them and make in-real-time decisions that affect their gameplay, including tools and quests, movement and much more. All this is possible by using simple visual controls."

Salsamendi says Beam will continue to operate even as he and his team are integrated into the Xbox engineering team.

Salsamendi in a blog post posted on Beam's website, stated that the service has increased to around 100,000 users since its launch in January of this year.

"As part of Xbox we'll be able scale faster than we've ever been capable of before", the author writes.

"We are expanding our team, strengthening our infrastructure, and most importantly, we're growing and supporting Beam's incredible community..
