Augurey ( Phoenix irlandia) berasal dari irlandia tetapi juga dapat ditemukan di inggris atau eropa bagian utara. Warnanya hitam kehijauan dan bertampang sedih. Hewan ini amat pemalu sehingga ia lebih sering bersembunyi di sarangnya yaitu semak duri dan berbentuk airmata. Makanan Augurey berupa serangga dan peri, ia hanya terbang saat hujan lebat. Augurey memiliki suara khusus yaitu jeritan yang dapat membuat penyihir yang mendengarnya serangan jantung. Tetapi augurey bernyanyi hanya saat akan hujan dan nyanyiannya sebagai penanda kematian. sehingga augurey pun dapat dijadikan peramal cuaca. Bulu augurey tidak dapat dijadikan pena karena tidak dapat menyerap tinta.
