FIFA 15 survived a three way battle to remain No. 1 in the UK. 1 despite a 70 percent drop in sales. The soccer simulation from EA sped its way past action-RPGs that are multi-platform like Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor as well as the racer for Xbox only Forza Horizon 2 and porta-brawler Super Smash Bros 3DS, placing third, second and fourth, respectively. While the three new games couldn't topple the UK's love for FIFA (and let's face it, few could) however, they were able to surpass Destiny the Bungie shooter, which slipped from second to fifth in its fourth week of sales.
With the exception of the PS4 retail edition of Minecraft (which UK databod Chart Track indicates as a different platform for Minecraft: PlayStation Edition), the other new release on the list was Crimes & Punishments: Sherlock Holmes in 27th. In addition, although Chart Track tends to hold back certain sales figures however, it did reveal some interesting differentials between platforms for a handful of the biggest releases this week. For instance, the Shadow of Mordor split is 56 percent PS4, 41 percent Xbox One and 3 percent PC (that doesn't include download sales) and Forza Horizon 2 geared in with a 73:27 split between Xbox One and Xbox 360.
